Hayling Island campsite

Hayling Island has all the attractions of a traditional seaside holiday yet is located in the nature-filled Langstone Harbour and its vast shingle beach is a mecca for watersports. Our favourite Hayling Island campsite, the Fishery Creek Campsite, is in an idyllic location on a tidal creek of Chichester Harbour.

Location: Langstone Harbour, Hampshire, Lat/long 50.784, -0.958

Campsite facilities: modern toilets, showers and a washing up area; laundry room; play area; electricity; private slipway for small boats into the creek; Carribean Galleon restaurant on site

Dog friendly: Yes

Local facilities: well-stocked shop and good café on site; local shops and restaurants are only a five minute walk away

Getting to the campsite: car; or Bus 30/31 from Havant Rail Station

Don’t miss: great coastal bike ride in England, the round island route to see all of the highlights of the island.

The full route is described in the guidebook, ‘Islandeering: adventures around the edge of Britain’s hidden islands‘.
