Zacry’s Islands are a pair of rock stacks between the hidden gem Whipsiderry Beach and Fruitful Cove that can be accessed by a low-tide walk from either beach. Both islands can be combined in a spectacular walk from Watergate Bay along the beaches to Whipsiddery Beach, crossing the rocks between Zacry’s Islands and the cliffs, returning along the top of the cliffs on the South West Coast Path (see Islandeering route for Zacry’s Islands). There are some impressive caves, accessible from the beach, along this stretch of coast. the finest is The Cathedral Cavern, which was once quarried for white marble and has a large pillar, a pool of water and several tunnels leading off. Another is Banqueting Hall, also known as Concert Cavern, where candlelight concerts have occasionally been held.

How to get to Zacry’s Islands:
The only way to get to Zacry’s islands is to walk along the South West Coast Path north of Newquay or south of Watergate Bay – see Islandeering route.
