The Cuckmere Meanders, a breathtaking series of natural oxbow lakes and old river loops, wind through the lower reaches of the Cuckmere River, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Seven Sisters Country Park. These meanders, tracing the original path of the Cuckmere River, were cut off from the main flow in 1847 when a straight channel was created to reduce flood risk. Today, they stand as a serene reminder of the river’s untamed past, offering a fabulous family-friendly paddle.
