Getting there Exit A27 on to A283 to Shoreham-by-Sea. Left (1st exit) at roundabout onto A259 towards Brighton. R at Kingston Lighthouse into car park.
Special points
The RSPB Adur Reserve is a fragile wetland habitat do not paddle into it or disturb the wildlife.
Wind can funnel N-S through the Steyning gap so check local conditions and tide times at Hot Pipe, https://www.surfline.com/surf-report/hot-pipe/601896c5797ce97445fac470 . Spring flood tides run fast upriver aiding your journey but can be too fast to paddle against if you decide to return before Little Beeding.

Time your journey (start approx. 2hrs before HW Shoreham) to arrive at Little Beeding ( HW Upper Beeding is +45mins Shoreham) giving you plenty of time to visit the pub/village and relax before taking the ebb back to Shoreham.
If going further north, chose a spring tide to aid journey as tide continues for up to 2hrs after HW Shoreham.
