  Ynys Fydlyn Walk via Church Bay

  This circular walk on the north west coast of Anglesey starts at the National Trust’s Mynachdu Estate and follows tranquil lanes and fields inland to reach Church Bay. The return route is all along the Anglesey Coast path and offers some dramatic cliff-top walking, with some steeper sections to reach Ynys Fydlyn and beach.

  Route description

  Turn right out of the carpark onto the quiet lane and follow it for 1.1 km to reach the farm complex (Orsedd Coch). Continue to the end of the buildings and take the track on the right (passed the house); follow for 200 metres until it bends to the left to reach the farm buildings. Walk south from the buildings, following the hedge-line towards the stile. Follow the path over two more stiles then continue to follow the foot path signs. Climb the shoulder of the hill, pass the wooden building, then turn left onto the track and descend to St Rhuddlad’s Church. Turn right along the lane, continue to Gadley’s Costal Holiday Cottages, then follow the footpath signs between the buildings to reach the car park at Church Bay.

  From Church Bay head to the coast and turn right (north) and follow the coast path to reach Ynys Fydlyn. To return to the car park, take the path inland passed the small lake, then uphill on the main track.
